Enterprise request management (ERM) is a model for simplifying, accelerating, and reducing the cost of providing employees in large organizations with all of the items and services they need to do their jobs. This vendor-agnostic approach combines an single intuitive web portal (kind of like Amazon.com within an enterprise) with task orchestration software to communicate with existing business systems to automate approvals, scheduling, and fulfillment. It enables employees to request anything from a password reset or getting a broken copier fixed to ordering a new desk lamp or iPad, without having to navigate a maze of different departmental systems and forms. This infographic explains what ERM is, how it works, and how it reduces costs of employee provisioning.
