This infographic shows how one Chinese consumer spends his income. In this example we look at a 31-year male Chinese office worker with a monthly salary of 10,000 RMB (1,500USD or 1,100 Euros) putting him among highest earning 20% of Chinese urban inhabitants. It is interesting to note that the discretionary consumption is still very low – for example the money spent on personal hygiene is only 100RMB per month. The source of this data is interviews we did to understand Chinese consumers preferences and spending.
