Here at Smith’s we are passionate about ice cream and all the lovely goodness that goes into making it. We decided to compile a list of interesting facts you may not actually know about Ice cream and present them for you in this colourful infographic below. Our infographic covers interesting facts such as how Ice cream is made, which countries consume the most ice cream, the most popular flavours, the strangest flavours, the most popular toppings and how many licks on average it takes to finish off a delicious ice cream cone. For example, did you know it takes 12 whole pounds of milk to produce just one gallon of ice cream? It also takes the average person 50 licks to finish off one scoop of ice cream! Another interesting fact is that 98% of people are said to have ice cream in their homes and as you might have already guessed, the USA is said to consume the largest amount of ice cream per year, closely followed by Australia. This brings us to flavours and toppins..mmm… Did you know that the most popular flavours are vanilla, rocky road, choclate and butter pecan! To top it all off, pardon the pun, the most popular toppings include hot fudge, chocolate chips, sprinkles and peanuts. Finally, we come to some of the strangest flavours consumed worlwide. These include, avacado, garlic, chilli and bacon to name but a few. I can`t imagine bacon flavoured ice cream can you?
