The Top 10 Largest Superyachts

Superyachts are seen as the ultimate must-have for any high net-worth individuals. In 2017 alone, there have been over 750 new superyacht projects ordered. These impressive structures are often created to accommodate a large amount of guests and a permanent crew, and are normally equipped with many extravagant extras, including swimming pools, dining halls, cinemas, yacht tenders, submarines and in some cases, a missile defence system.

The owners of the Top 10 superyachts are all billionaires, and come from a variety of different countries, with Russians and those from the Middle-East heavily represented. Included in this list is Roman Abramovich, owner of Chelsea Football Club, and Alisher Usmanov, the second-largest shareholder in Arsenal Football Club.

The honour of owning the world’s largest superyacht, the Azzam, built by Lurssen, goes to Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of The United Arab Emirates. The megayacht is 180m (592 feet, 6 inches) long, and can travel at a speed of 30 knots.
