When you are choosing your skincare and cosmetic products, what’s the first thing that you consider? Is it their price? Is it their effectiveness? Or if it is cruelty-free?
Animals nowadays are still suffering in laboratories because of cosmetics and skincare products. According to statistics, over 1 billion animal tests have happened between the years of 2020 and 2015. Many of the brands that you can buy in the mall are being tested on animals. This is very cruel and often unnecessary, and many animals might suffer or even die because of this kind of testing.
As a consumer, it is our responsibility to do our research on the product that we are going to buy before actually purchasing it. This can be really frustrating and confusing. We might need to abandon some of our must-have skincare products or cosmetics, but this is the best thing that we can do to avoid this kind of cruelty. Good news, though, there are many companies cropping up that provide great cruelty-free replacements for our favorite products!
To better understand it, here’s an infographic from The Derm Review. Here are the five ways to tell if your skincare brand tests on animals as well as the brands that you might want to avoid because they aren’t cruelty free yet. These are brands who have been so vocal about their fight against cruelty-free, but still allowing testing in another country.
